First, on May 21, 2003, FeaturePrice got fucked. The same day, these bastards Atlantic.net took over the assets of the poor dead beast, offering clients two months free while they found a new host.

BUT: then, on May 23, 2003, several of their client's domain name registrations expired. Which means that the hosting company no longer has authority to host the domain, so all of these client's websites look awful (warning, the page is spamspawn so please don't click it if you can trust me and know that these client websites are fucked).

One of those clients happens to be a hotel where I've got an Immersive network, The Inn at Sunset Cliffs.

May 23, btw, was the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend. Which means I could get NO ONE on a phone to talk about this problem. It also meant that anyone who was home and suddenly thinking about their summer vacation (because they obviously wasted the three-day weekend by not planning for it) were surfing the web, and they couldn't get to ISC's website.

Now it's May 28, and ISC's website is STILL down. I've yelled at lots of people. I've called and berated support staff, salespeople, I even ground the CEO's name off their website and then got his extension off their voicemail directory and left him a very explicit message. (That was tonite.) I don't know what will happen, but it seems like no one wants to care. Sigh.

Anyway: w2k3 has already become tiresome. My consulting clients are taking a lot of energy, and have forced me back into Linux and coding. It's been good getting those chops back into shape, but the Linux community really has the press cowed. To hear it in the news, Linux is taking millions of dollars away from Microsloth. Not with any of the fucking useless shit software I've seen. Open Source means No Quality Control, and the geeks work on whatever the fuck they want to work on. Ach.

And being a Bob is having it's own impacts.
